Not quite the Eastern Cape
The idea was to use a wedding in Sedgefield on Saturday to use as a stepping stone to ride on and explore the Eastern Cape - seemed like a reasonable plan, with Jane driving and myself riding. She would then drive back and I would carry on, on my own.
We duly […]

Sunday Axel, Bobby, Wayne and myself and off course about 100 other people we don’t know attended the Boland Bikes Advanced Riding School at Killarney. We did roughly 30 laps for the day….

I lost the front at the end of the pit straight - a tight left hander. I was most likely just another dumbass pushing the limit, but I’m just the type that can’t really enjoy myself unless I’m doing just that. So I’m not complaining.
This Advanced Riding school was also on a Sunday, but […]

It was a nervous, worried looking bunch that showed their faces for the P2BP run.
Every couple of seconds someone would glance at the clouds, hoping it would stay clear. There were a fair number of bikes about, but not the numbers you’d usually associate with a Sunday morning.
Our mission looked doomed. There’s no way we’re […]

THE IRON BUTT RUN
PART 1 by Beetlejuice, PART 2 by Axel
The digital speedo is going 270,271,270,271….
The throttle is to the stop.
I can feel the vibrations through my jacket into the pit of my stomach as I lay flat on the tank.
The engine sounds like a spitfire engine as the plane dives earthwards after having it’s […]

I got that proper riding feeling while standing there with a rumbling tummy, shivering, on top of a majestic mountain and looking out over a beautiful valley.
OK so this’ll be a short report as it was a short trip. Rain was forecasted for Sunday so we didn’t know what to expect. It certainly looked like […]

It was a chilly start to the day, 6:30am and I was on the road in full leathers to the N1 One-stop where we were going to meet up. Indicator had decided that the IUB boys were getting far to soft and he decided an Icicle Run would soon toughen us up. Arrived at the […]

Ever since the last top end run at Saldanha Beetlejuice has been planning
his revenge against The Bastard FZR From Hell (or F’ing Ell as he now calls
it). He was seen searching the intarnet for terms like “NOS”, “power to the
people” and “Submissive asian twins”. Obviously in an effort to get power to
the unsubmissive Asian twin […]

Ok so we survived our little trip and here’s Gill’s version from the pillion seat. I think it just about says it all except that in some places it sounds like I just drink beer and sleep - not true at all. As far as the bike goes I think that the rear cylinder runs […]

Cape Point
I feel myself obliged to document the events of the past weekend in the hope that it might bring a smile to a face or two. Friday was, as usual, a special day. I booted the ‘rauder at about 6:30 in the morning and set of on the half-hour ride to work. My favorite […]
